School choice options vary from state to state, with some providing several options to families, while others are more restrictive. Some states, for example, do not have legislation that allows cyber schools or tax credits. Connecticut has public charter and magnet schools as well as homeschooling options for families. Lotteries also place students from urban schools in suburban schools and vice versa. However, private school choice and public virtual schooling is not permitted in Connecticut.
