HARTFORD – The Yankee Institute’s media project, Raising Hale, is our repository for investigative reports on Connecticut’s state government. The website, www.RaisingHale.com, features articles and videos that break news and address topics not covered elsewhere.
Zachary Janowski is an investigative reporter for the Yankee Institute and is responsible for the material posted to Raising Hale. Most recently he was editor of The Southington Citizen, a weekly community newspaper, and he has daily reporting experience from the Willimantic Chronicle. He lives in Plantsville.
“We believe that the more attention people pay to government, the better it functions,” Janowski said.
Nathan Hale, Connecticut’s most famous Revolutionary War hero, provides the inspiration for this site. “Hale believed Connecticut could have a better government – and he sacrificed his life for it,” Janowski said. “We are grateful for the freedoms Hale died for and we plan to Raise Hale by exercising them.”
In addition to writing for Raising Hale, Janowski will continue to partner with other media outlets to collaborate on stories. To reprint a Raising Hale story or for more information, contact Janowski at zach@yankee-institute-dev.10web.me.
